Nabe&Sake Night

It has been a long time since I wrote the last post!
I've been great and getting used to new job.

久しぶりに書きます。仕事でバタバタしていていましたが相変わらず充実した毎日を送っています。

By the way, I had a "Nabe party" with sake lovers during Chinese New Year.

先日チャイニーズニューイヤーということでお休みだったので酒ラバーズで集まり、鍋パーティーをしました！

There are so many kinds of foods to cerebrate with and each of them has meaning or people's
wishes for new year. Here in Singapore, most of people celebrate CNY with steamed boat which is similar to Japanese nabe....so we decided to have nabe with Japanese sake!

チャイニーズニューイヤーは新年に願いを込めた料理がたくさんあります。

シンガポールはスティームボートといって日本でいうお鍋をよくするみたいです。

なので、鍋パーティー！

I brought "Gokyo Isehikari" from Yamaguchi prefecture which is one of my favorite sake.

お酒は私は"五橋 イセヒカリ"を。

五橋は私のお気に入りの一つ、山口県のお酒です。

Mika San has lots of selections of sake and her wine cellar filled up with wines and sake looked like treasure box to me!!

みかさんのご自宅にはお酒やワインがたくさん詰まった宝箱のようなワインセラーが…‼︎

And...she has beautiful sake cups like "Bizen-yaki" and cups made from tin.They are so beautiful and I am happy just to look at them all day...!

I am surprised that sake actually tastes different when you drink sake out of them!

そして、日本の伝統工芸品である素敵な盃がズラリ。

備前焼や錫でつくられたお猪口は見ているだけで幸せです。

そんな素敵なお猪口でお酒を頂いたのですが、驚いたことに味が変わることがわかりました。遠赤外線効果でまろやかになるのです。

Anyway...here we go!
These are tonight's selections of sake!Wooohooo I was so excited to taste them!

さぁ、本題はお酒！

ズラリと並べた日本酒が今夜の鍋のお供です。

We started with "Cho Sogabe"from Tsukasa botan.

It has calm aroma and crisp dry taste(dryness+8).

It goes well any kinds of food.

まず、初めは司ボタンの"長宗我部 超辛口純米酒"。

香りは落ち着いていて、キリッと辛口の純米酒なので何にでも合わせられます。

We finished this one before nabe.

It was our pre drink with Japanese snacks.

お鍋の前に旨味たっぷりの日本のおつまみを楽しみました！

We enjoyed Jyunmai sake with special japanese Otsumami "Karasumi" which is dried mullet roe and has unique deep flavor! Food which has "Umami" is best enjoyed with Jyunmai sake because Jyunmai sake has lots of Umami elements which comes from acids like amino acid.

みかさんが日本で買って大事にしまって置いたというカラスミ！

カラスミは旨味たっぷりで塩分もあるので純米酒にはぴったりです。

純米酒は旨味成分のアミノ酸が多く含まれているので、干物やチーズなどとも楽しめるんです。

After people got together we started cooking nabe and opened another bottle which was "Gokyo Isehikari".

メンバーが集まったので、お鍋開始！

お鍋と同時に次は"五橋イセヒカリ"を開けました。

As the name suggests it is brewed using "Isehikari rice".It is also brewed on the wooden barrel so, right before the sake passes into your throat, you can feel a gentle bitterness.

I would love to drink this sake with tempura of spring vegetable and mountain vegetable which season is just around the corner!

イセヒカリという品種のお米を使用しているのでこの名前がついています。

そして、昔ながらの桶仕込み！

その桶仕込みからの影響なのか、最後に心地よい苦味を感じられます。

これから春にかけての野菜や山菜の天ぷらに合わせてみたいです。

And after that we moved on to "Daishichi Kimoto Jyunmai" .
This is the BEST sake for Nabe!! It has strong body to support full flavour food.

お次は大七酒造の代表である"大七 生もと純米"を。

色々お鍋と日本酒は合わせてみたものの、大七に敵うお酒にはまだ出会っていません。

しっかりしたボディーがある旨味たっぷりのお酒なので、しっかりした味付けのお料理や鍋、すき焼きにぴったりです。

I highly recommend to slightly warm it up and enjoy with full flavour food.

When you warm it up, the sake is balanced between sweetness and umami and it gives you long but dry after taste.

熱燗ではなく、ぬる燗またはそれより少し熱めの温度帯で飲むとグッと旨味が増します。

Then another one..."Kawazuru Gensyu" which is cute bottle wrapped with bamboo leaf.

It is undiluted sake so it is powerful and flavorful with dry finish.

そして、"川鶴 竹の皮包み"原酒。

芳醇でガツンとパワーがありました。

コクもあって後味はスッキリです。

I thought we finished all of our sake though Mika San offered us another bottle!

Last bottle was "Shimabara Jyunmai Daiginjo".

全部開けちゃった〜と思ったら、みかさんがまだ出してくれました！

最後に"しまばら 純米大吟醸"を。

I enjoyed drinking out of a cup with crab.

I thought that it almost start moving in a cup...woooo dangerous!(means I enjoyed a lot!)

お酒の中でカニが泳いでて可愛い。

だんだん動いて見えてきそう…危険。笑

It was a great nabe party with beautiful sakes!

I'm feeling that 2014 is going to be another great year because I started with great sakes!!

楽しい鍋パーティーでした。

美味しいお酒でスタートしたので、よい年になりそうな予感…！
